. Ahhh bats .

I have been wanting to post this for a while now. This story is funny now but with a lot of things...it wasn't at the time!

Ps. My apologies, this is a lengthy story, I just don't want to leave out any details.

It all stated 3 years ago, a new found hatred and disgust developed into sheer terror :)
I had just started living in my house and while I was watching TV,I heard something in the kitchen. It was like someone was going through my cupboards. I freaked out, ran to my car and called my dad. He told me to go in and check the house, he'd stay on the phone with me. I checked, and probably screamed once or twice from my own shadow...nothing, the house was empty. Fast forward a few Weeks. I just got izzie, and my mom and sister were visiting, my house for the first time. I retired to show my mom the basement but when I opened the door and saw a bird fly around,I figured the tour of the basement was going to have to wait. Its the middle of the night and I get awakened by a flapping noise. I look up to see this stupid bird flying in my bedroom! So I leave izzie, walk over to where my mom and my sister are and tell my mom that the bird that was in the basement is now in my bedroom. It only took her a hot second to realize it wasn't a bird...it was a BAT...IN MY HOUSE! my mom and I ran downstairs to look up a phone number in the yellow pages. Meanwhile the bat when from my room to say hi to Lynne, and she freaked out and was downstairs in 3 steps. Lynne and my mom locked themselves in the bathroom and told me to go get izzie seen as how she wasn't vaccinated against rabies. I run upstairs, grab izzie and on the way to the bathroom I ran into the bat and he hit me in the face with his wing!! Not knowing what else to do,I called the police. Not 911, just the regular number. I was calling to ask them who to call and they said they would come over. The officer and I searched for almost an hour and finally found it, as a tiny ball in the basement. The officer killed it and took it to get tested for rabies.
Since that time, I've caught 2 bats in mouse traps...which the exterminators don't know how that happened once let alone twice.
Well right before I moved to VA, I was sitting on my bed worth NY bedroom door closed. I heard a noise and saw a bat crawl under neath my bedroom door. It started flying so I grabbed izzie and put her in the bathroom (a. She is vaccinated, but I don't want to take any chances b. We quickly found it the bats were coming up thru the air vents...its an old house). I called the police and the officer came to kill it. An hour later, we could not find it. He gave me his number and said to call because he was going to be on duty all night. I fell asleep and about 3 hours later woke up to my cat sitting on my pillow, hissing at it! Strangest thing! Then I heard it scream, the bat screamed from WITHIN my BED!! So I called the cop back and told him it was in my bed! He came over right away and stripped my bed...nothing. I told him it was in there and sure enough there it was...it had crawled INTO MY PILLOWCASE!!! I had literally slept on a bat for almost 3 hours!! It even freaked the cop out. I didn't sleep that night, not a wink!!
To say I hate those suckers is an understatement. They scare the crap out of me! Off course I wrote this post at 3am, while listening to noises. There is a bat in the house...I can feel it. People will probably think i'm crazy But I can sense it. Off course I can also hear it, I can hear the sound of its  wings. At some point I might have to go get a rabies shot...just in case. I won't be sleeping tonight (6/8/2012), I have migrated to the couch, and turned all the lights on. I'll sleep when its light outside :) (little update...I went to bed at 6am when it finally got light out, and they got quite as soon as the sun came up. So far no luck in finding someone that can help me evict them!)
These days I sure would like a boyfriend/fiance/husband to protect me from critters :)

Hope y'all enjoyed my bat story...and if you have a solution to get rid of these nasty little buggers, please let me know!!!

. Home Sweet Home 1.0 {photo dump} part 1 .

{I'm making this post 1.0 because I tend to move a lot...}

WARNING: This is a super long post :)
Yay, I feel like I'm finally settled into my house in New York. I haven't lived here for that long, but its starting to feel like home again.

Background story: I never really liked living in the dorms, I was already 21 when I was a freshman. So I looked for an apartment off campus to live in. My dad thought it was a better idea for me to look for a house. He would buy a house, rent out the rooms and make the money that he spent on the house back. I thought this was a GREAT idea. So, I started looking for houses. I found an adorable 3 bedroom house, with an amazing master bedroom closet...I was SOLD! It was the first house I looked at, it had gone on the market the day before. I told my dad all about it and had him look at pictures online (mind you both my parents live in the Netherlands). He liked and 2 days later we offered the asking price in cash...they ACCEPTED and the house was MINE..well not really, but you get the idea. My parents never even saw the house before they bought it but trusted my oppinion on it. I had never looked at a house, let alone buy one, so I figured we placed the offer, it got acccepted, I could moved in next week, no?? Yea NO, big no! I guess that is not how that goes in real estate. It took close to 2 months before everything was done. Getting a lawyer, getting the money wired, doing a home inspection, waiting for the repairs, then you get the key. By this time my dad had flown for my birhtday, and I got the key the same week. We painted and I moved in. It was built in 1925 and it has the original hardwood floors in it. I love this home!!!

Fast forward: I moved away from New York in 2010, to head down to Virginia. I put the house on the market and my best friend and her then fiance moved in. It was nice to have people living in it so that it wasn't sitting here empty. My friend moved out in March of this year...and the house is still on the market!!! We have gotten one lowball offer, and we didn't even counter. It was more a slap in the face, not an offer. I love living here but I want this house to sell...its time for a new owner :)

If anyone is interested in it, its is in Fredonia, NY and its currently for sale at $119.900 which is a steal considering it was appraised at $139.900!!! (email me!!)

I wanted to post some pictures so that you guys can see how cute this house is :)
PS. this will be a picture overload...but I didn't want to leave anything out

. work out Wednesday .

Ok, so here is my first weight loss, get healthy update! What a week it has been; not really but I like to think I have a life :)

I hate doing this on a Wednesday, my OCD wants things to start on Monday...the beginning of the week. So last week when I made the decision to start working out, I wanted to start P90X on a Monday. So I did take Izzie for a few long walks between last Wednesday and Monday.

I went to the beach with my freshman roommate, who I haven't seen in about 3 years! We had so much fun laying out on the beach...at lake Erie. Now, note to self, I HAVE GOT to be more dilligent about putting on sunscreen. It wasn't too hot so I didn't feel like I was burning...HOWEVER, when I got home, it was a different story! My upper thighs are scorched, they turned a very unpleasent purple-ish color. And my back...jikes, I had my friend put lotion on my tattoo, so I have a perfect circle around my tattoo, and the rest of my back is completely burned. I was in so much pain, working out Monday was not an option...neither was walking! I did run up and down my stairs yesterday which may or may not end with me falling at some point :)

As for my eating...another JIKES! I found Oreo Birthday icecream in my freezer...need I say more?? Oopsies! However, I did drop a tiny bit in weight, whoop whoop! My weight as of this morning is 153.8lbs! I'm not super proud, but I'm glad I lost some weight instead of gain some...gotta think of the positives here.

So there ya have it, I will be starting my P90X on a Wednesday...TODAY!

. Sick & tired .

I'm sick and tired of being the fat sister! Lynne goes to the gym, and looks amazing, plus she eats really healthy. Now i'm not trying to complain too much, but i'm currently unemployed and even when I did have my house keeping job I wasn't making enough money to eat healthy. Unhealthy food is cheaper, let's face that. Well guess what....I'M DONE! I'm done not looking cute in a bikini or a dress or..naked, for that matter!! My bmi is half a point away from being overweight, i'm never going to be this close again!
I was always a healthy 135lbs, which looked good on my 5`6 height. I mean sure things could be tighter but they were not as bad as they are now.
Last year, I think it was summer,I decided to find the real me and wean myself off of my anti depressants. I feel awesome, mentally, right now. Stopping the meds though made me gain almost 30lbs!!!! I went to the doctor in November to get my blood taken, I was sure something was wrong. Maybe my thyroid, or diabetes?? Something was going on and I kept gaining weight. Turns out, i'm completely healthy! After going to the Netherlands for Christmas, and divulging in all the yummy food, I signed my fat ass up at a gym and I worked it everyday for a month, losing 10lbs. Then shortly after, the boy and I broke things off and I got a new job and found it impossible to make time for the gym. 5 of the 10lbs have returned...so not cool.
Your metabolism slows down the older you get. Plus I heard that you should be in the best shape of your life before you get pregnant because you won't ever go back (I don't know if that's true, but its a good excuse). I wanna have kids in the (near) future (God willing) and I want to prepare my body NOW!!
Today I did day 1 of P90X! I'm also going to try running, taking izzie for a long walk and maybe swimming...and cutting out unhealthy foods! (why do I love sugar so much??)
For my own sake, i'm not putting before pictures up just yet...I don't want those on her until I see some results. I will be weighing myself every Wednesday, and measuring and taking a picture of myself every other Wednesday. My goal weight is between 125-130lbs, but I know muscle weighs more then fat. I would like to just look healthy :)
So here are this Weeks measurements (I cannot believe i'm doing this!)
starting weight: 154.4
Chest: 38”
Waist: 32”
Hips: 42”
L thigh: 24”
R thigh: 24”

Oh and if you don't have anything nice to say please just don't say anything at all! :)

Here goes nothing! Stop making excuses begins right now!

. Where have you been?? .

Here I am!!! I'm back :) Here is a short recap of what seems like the last month, but really was only 2 weeks  (im probably getting internet Thursday and I'm excited to be able to blog way more then I do now!!)

My parents got to town the 24th of May. At this point my house was a complete disaster...a bomb of boxes had exploded and there was shit everywhere. I had rented a 14ft Uhaul thinking my stuff would fit...but after my dad saw the crap ton of stuff I had, I called to get a 17ft instead. Turns out because of graduation, they ran out of both 14 and 17ft Uhaul's, so I got myself a 20ft fo free! (I am a little mortified to admit that I really needed a 20ft...by myself, that is not ok!)

We packed the Uhaul all day Sunday, to start driving to NY on Monday. I had a goodbye dinner on Sunday with some of my friends..I had an awesome time and I'm gonna miss the friends I made and having my family close by. We started driving Monday around 9am. It was a circus...my parents, Izzie & I, a 20ft Uhaul with my car behind it and a rental mini van. Instead of it taking the normal 8-9 hours, it took us 13 to get to NY. We hadn't really thought about that while packing the truck, so the mattresses were in the back of the truck, so we decided to stay at a hotel for the night.

Tuesday we went to the house for the first time in almost a year for me, and almost 3 years for my parents. The house was nasty and it took us a lot of elbow grease to get it to my mom and my standard of clean...which is a tad higher then everyone elses appearently. We basically went from room to room on hands and knees cleaning and gave my dad some handy work to do around the house and outside. He installed a new vanity upstairs and cut my bushes in the garden. And when I (gently) asked if he could bring the washer and dryer up from the basement, he didn't even complain...plus he re-wired everything and got it all set up for me. While we were unpacking, there were 3 showings at the house!! A good sign, but alas, no offers were made. The realtor gave us some suggestions to change around the house to make it more appealing and I would like to make all of them. However, I was expecting another paycheck from work and I didn't get one and because I don't have a job here yet, those changes will have to wait.

Thursday after unpacking all my shit and a 2 trips to the dump and goodwill, I was all done...only to pack my bags and head on our great Canadian adventure. Lynne and Justin (sister & husband) got to NY Thursday and after dropping Izzie off Friday, we were off for a week and some days in our mini-van...driving away.

We drove thru New York, Vermont, Maine, New Hampshire, New Brunswick, Nova Scotia, Prince Edward Island, Quebec, and Ontario in 11 days. We went thru 8 states (I'm also counting Virginia, West Virginia, Maryland, and Pennsylvania seen as how that is technically where our journey started) and 5 provinces. We were never in the same place longer then a few hours, and drove an average of 7 hours per day. We managad to put 7000 on our rental car, which equals .... miles.

We had an awesome time and it was nice to spend time with family. My parents left Sunday night to go back to the Netherlands...I'm not sure when they will be back, or when I will be going there. Lynne, Justin and I left on Monday...even though we had a blast, I was excited to go home and be reunited with Izzie!!!

Today I had a meeting with the Dean of the Criminal Justice department at school and I got set with all my classes. I'm taking 15 credits, 5 classes so that I don't overwhelm myself. I rather take fewer classes and get good grades then get a lot of credits but shitty grades.

Next step: FINDING A JOB ASAP!!! Money is so tight right now it is not even funny. I think I'm on my last 2 dollars! Scary thought, but I know that God will provide...I just need to get my butt in gear

Also, starting tomorrow I will begin my weight loss journey. I'm creeping towards an overweight BMI, and that is just not acceptable. I'm going to be eating healthy, doing P90X, swimming and taking Izzie for long (an hour) walks, which will hopefully turn into runs eventually.

I keep on saying that I'll work out and get my body in shape and I never follow thru...so I'm hoping that by putting it out there for you to read (whoever you are, I'm not sure who is reading my blog) I will have some sort of responsibility and 'someone' to hold me accountable.

More on that tomorrow!!
